A team behind every treatment
Hearing that you have a cancer diagnosis can be overwhelming. But as a Kaiser Permanente member, you’re surrounded by a team of doctors, nurses, specialists, and care professionals who are all focused on giving you the best treatment and outcome.
Timothy Kim, MD, a Kaiser Permanente urologic oncologist, talks about advances in diagnosing and treating prostate cancer
A 360-degree approach
Like people, no 2 cancers are exactly alike. So a multidisciplinary team supports you and your family by working together to determine the best approach for your treatment.
Our multidisciplinary team

Advanced tools and technologies
As cancer treatments become more sophisticated, we’re continually adding to the tools we employ. Our oncologists, hematologists, and surgeons have the latest diagnostic technologies and treatment services. Here are some examples:
CyberKnife®
This robotic radiosurgery system noninvasively focuses high doses of radiation on tumors without hurting surrounding tissues.1
Varian® linear accelerator and Novalis® BrainLAB
These radiosurgery systems deliver minimally invasive, precision treatment while avoiding nearby healthy tissue.
Robotically assisted surgical devices
This technology is employed in minimally invasive procedures.

Making critical information accessible
Our electronic health record system makes diagnoses and treatments visible to the doctors and medical professionals who need this information. Each member of the care team is connected to a patient’s electronic health record, informed of treatment, and kept current on the condition and recovery.2
